Using Primitives

Click Button-Panel-Primitives.gif (675 bytes) to show the Primitives panel. Or select the Component Tab Button-Construction-Component.gif (1131 bytes) to show all component sub-panels.

To add a primitive to your scene, click on the primitive's icon and drag it on to your Scene. Each primitive has options that may be displayed by right clicking on the primitive's icon.

PrimitiveCube.gif (1408 bytes) Cube

The resolution of a cube is the number of square polygons used to make up the edges of the cube. For instance, a resolution of two results in a cube with sides made up of four polygons, two along each edge.

 

PrimitiveCylinder.gif (1474 bytes) Cylinder

The number of lines of Latitude and Longitude may be specified for a Cylinder. As well, the ratio of the size of the top to the bottom may also be set.

 

PrimitiveSphere.gif (1739 bytes) Sphere

A sphere may have its Latitude and Longitude set.

 

PrimitiveTorus.gif (1585 bytes) Torus

The ratio of the inner hole to the outer edge may be set for the torus as well as the standard Latitude and Longitude.

 

PrimitiveCone.gif (1440 bytes) Cone

A Cone may have its Latitude and Longitude set.

 

Note that the number lines of Latitude are inclusive of the origins. For instance, a Sphere with ten lines of Latitude and ten lines of longitude will result in a sphere made up of ninety polygons.
